St. Catherine’s Lace is a California native plant with gorgeous clusters of white blossoms. It’s also drought tolerant, and I’m noticing more and more of them in my neighborhood. Yay! This lovely specimen was a gift from a friend. It’s pressed and dried so I can print it again and again and think of her.
The unique borders were created with scraps of hand-printed white fabric surrounded by deep blue cyanotypes. There’s also some indigo dyed linen and a strip of my old jeans!
Medium: hand-printed textiles including: cyanotypes, toned cyanotypes, ice dye, and tea-toned upcycled fabrics. Linen/cotton borders are neatly stretched over a sturdy wood and canvas frame.
Size: 16” x 20” x 1.5”
Framing/display: This piece does not need framing. The deep profile, linen-wrapped support frame is sturdy, light weight and sophisticated in appearance. It comes ready to hang with finger-friendly Softstrand coated picture wire and supplied hanging hardware.
