This little nest has been printed many, many times yet I still love it. This time I’ve cyanotyped it on cotton fabric and toned it with black tea and onion skins to a warm shade of brown. Robin’s egg blue embroidery highlights the eggshell fragments in the nest.

A harmonious combination of many fabrics make up the border. Crisp white cotton is surrounded by blue and brown textures adding layers of visual interest.

Medium: Hand-printed textiles including cyanotypes, ecoprints, and rust prints on upcycled natural fabrics. Embroidered detail on eggshells. Natural linen/cotton borders. Mounted on archival 300# watercolor paper.
