About this piece, Field Notes 6: This weathered leaf was found on the sidewalk one morning and I managed to get it home and press it without crumpling it. Was it bugs or the rain that made the interesting texture? Just one of many collected treasures from my neighborhood walks!

About the Field Notes series: These quilt-inspired “minis” were studies for the collection that I began in 2022. I was able to try out color combinations, stitching techniques, and composition and framing ideas on a small scale. These gems turned out to be some of my favorites in the collection! They’d look beautiful on a wall, in a grouping, or displayed on a shelf.

Medium: Hand-printed textiles including cyanotypes, toned cyanotypes, ecoprints, and ice dye on upcycled natural fabrics. Natural linen/cotton borders. Mounted on archival 300# watercolor paper.

Size: 8” x 8”

Frame: Framed in white shadowbox frame with glass, 8.75” x 8.75” x 1.125”. Ready to hang. Signed and dated on the back.
