About this piece, Field Notes 8: Everything about this piece is gentle, quiet, soft. Look closely at the central leaf print – the details are so delicate and beautiful! Even the “black” strip at the edge is a muted warm gray.

About the Field Notes series: These quilt-inspired “minis” were studies for the collection that I began in 2022. I was able to try out color combinations, stitching techniques, and composition and framing ideas on a small scale. These gems turned out to be some of my favorites in the collection! They’d look beautiful on a wall, in a grouping, or displayed on a shelf.

Medium: Hand-printed textiles including wet cyanotypes and ecoprints, on upcycled natural fabrics. Natural linen/cotton borders. Mounted on archival 300# watercolor paper.

Size: 8” x 8”

Frame: Framed in white shadowbox frame with glass, 8.75” x 8.75” x 1.125”. Ready to hang. Signed and dated on the back.
