About this piece, Field Notes 7: Like a precious gem displayed in a little treasure box, this eucalyptus leaf stands alone as bit of natural beauty. I find it so interesting the way the leaves release their colors in the ecoprint pot, and I love the speckled texture and warm blacks in the print.

About the Field Notes series: These quilt-inspired “minis” were studies for the collection that I began in 2022. I was able to try out color combinations, stitching techniques, and composition and framing ideas on a small scale. These gems turned out to be some of my favorites in the collection! They’d look beautiful on a wall, in a grouping, or displayed on a shelf.

Medium: Hand-printed textiles including ecoprints, toned cyanotype, and tea dye on upcycled natural fabrics. Natural linen/cotton borders. Mounted on archival 300# watercolor paper.

Frame: Framed in white shadowbox frame with glass, 8.75” x 8.75” x 1.125”. Ready to hang. Signed and dated on the back.
