field notes 1

$160.00

About this piece, Field Notes 1: This petite piece features a wet cyanotype of a mimosa sprig in a composition loosely based on the traditional “log cabin” quilt block. Other textiles used include: cyanotypes, fabrics bleached with decolorant, and store-bought polka dots that perk the piece up!

About the Field Notes series: These quilt-inspired “minis” were studies for the collection that I began in 2022. I was able to try out color combinations, stitching techniques, and composition and framing ideas on a small scale. These gems turned out to be some of my favorites in the collection! They’d look beautiful on a wall, in a grouping, or displayed on a shelf.

Medium: Hand-printed textiles on upcycled natural fabrics. Natural linen/cotton borders. Mounted on archival 300# watercolor paper.

Size: 8” x 8”

Frame: Framed in white shadowbox frame with glass, 8.75” x 8.75” x 1.125”. Ready to hang. Signed and dated on the back.
