down little lake street
Walking down Little Lake Street from the Mendocino Art Center on my way to the Headlands, I passed this big cypress tree each day. I’m sure there were houses, but what I loved most (and wanted to paint) were the weathered fences trailing down the hill. You can see fog on the cliff tops and wild green growth along the road, too.
The collaged surface includes tea bag paper, medical tape, and splashes of black tea. Watercolor, dark black pencil, and pastel create the moody layers. This piece has 4 deckled edges.
Medium: Watercolor, collage, pencil and colored pencil on 300# Fabriano cold press watercolor paper.
